School groups are invited to arrange field trips to Chimney Rock National Monument, available in late April or early May and October (depending on weather) as well as during the regular season. Tour fees are waived for the students and supervising adults. Tours must be reserved in advance. Buses can have difficulty making the turn in the upper parking lot and will be given special instructions.
Call the Chimney Rock Interpretive Association (CRIA) business office (970-730-7133) and leave a message if you are interested in a field trip, classroom presentation, or educational kit. There is a book and lesson plan guide for teachers at the Visitor Center.
This collared lizard is one of several species seen frequently on Chimney Rock tours.
