Fall Colors Plan to enjoy the outdoor wonderland that is southwestern Colorado after your visit to Chimney Rock National Monument. Hiking, fishing, balloon rides, steam trains, and scenic drives all await summer visitors. After all that activity, soak in the soothing hot mineral springs. The nearby Southern Ute Homeland sports a new cultural center and museum as well as a casino.

Even though Chimney Rock closes September 30, many archaeological sites in the Four Corners area are open year round. Throughout the winter, abundant snow makes for excellent downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing.
